Our LCC Life Cycle Cost software program takes into account factors, such as installation issues, duct condition, change-out, energy consumption, purchase price, maintenance costs and disposal. In well-defined steps, we can optimize the performance of prefilters and final filters, and achieve the best overall air filter value for every application.

AFS's LCC software calculates the precise Life Cycle Cost for a specific filter, (ours or a competitor's) in any given AHU. The program adjusts to accommodate real-world outdoor air characteristics, and hours of operation and fan efficiency, as well as costs for filters, labor, disposal, and energy.

Results are provided as numerical data and easy to read graphics. Users can also experiment with various "what if" scenarios, including changing filter efficiencies or hours of operation and other parameters. Users of this advanced, innovative tool have applied the resultant data and saved 40% and more on air quality expenditures for their HVAC systems.

One of the most important benefits of the LCC tool is that it indicates where the costs related to air filtration truly are. It is not the purchase cost of the filters that's important, (that's typically just 6% of the total) but energy required for filters to operate. (Often about 70% of the total.) Energy use correlates strongly with pressure drop: the less drop, the less cost.
